Treatment Approach

Patrick’s treatment approach aims to help people better understand themselves, clarify what is meaningful and important to them, and live a more fulfilling and rich life. To achieve this, Patrick practices using a therapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This style of treatment helps people to better notice their thoughts, feelings and emotions (rather than trying to control, struggle against, or become consumed by them), enabling people to make conscious decisions in the present moment and take effective action in line with their own unique values and goals. Patrick also offers Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT) when this matches a person’s therapeutic needs.

Patrick is also now offering EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) treatment.
